Working on today’s cars requires an understanding of the science and technology that goes into modern, highly sophisticated automobiles. At WyoTech, students first learn the fundamentals in the classroom, then they apply what they’ve learned to real-world projects.

Engine Management

This course will introduce you to the following principles:

  • electricity, testing, batteries, starting charging systems
  • engine theory
  • engine component inspection R R
  • under hood noise diagnosis
  • cooling lubrication systems
  • environmental management
  • service information systems

Drivability Diagnostics

This course will introduce you to the following principles:

  • alternative fuel systems
  • powertrain control systems
  • onboard diagnostics
  • distributor electronic ignition systems
  • fuel ignition systems
  • electric hybrid electric vehicles
  • exhaust emission systems
  • electronic accessories
  • customer relations

Drivetrain Systems

Auto mechanic school

This course will introduce you to the following principles:

  • torque converters
  • planetary gears
  • transmission hydraulics clutches
  • manual transmissions transaxles
  • four-wheel drive all-wheel drive
  • differentials
  • precision measuring instruments
  • removal replacement of transaxles
